This course provides a understanding of the five common dysfunctions in teams that fail, tips to overcoming team dysfunction and an understanding of why teams are so powerful.

Teams are a powerful tool in forging success in business. Teams can also be rife with dysfunction, causing the team to ultimately fail. Understanding the challenges of working as a team and learning how to mange the inevitable dysfunction that comes with the team dynamic is an important skill. This course will identify the five dysfunctions of a team; Absence of Trust, Fear of Conflict, Lack of Commitment, Avoiding Accountability and Inattention to Results; and the five keys to overcoming dysfunction.

Each one of the five dysfunctions comes with its own unique challenges to overcoming it. While the members of the “team” may be well intentioned, working together to accomplish a unified goal isn’t accomplished by simply identifying as a “team”, rather it is accomplished through developing a team.

Using the DAVE principal, you will learn how to build consensus amongst your team. With trust and commitment, the team must now develop build accountability. The leader of the team must model accountability through their own actions but also by holding the team members accountable. Finally, the team must focus on results. The team leader will learn how to guide their team to defining success.
